Our learning resource centres (LRCs) are located on all three campuses, offering free access to learning resources, study spaces, and student network computers. They are also the base for our learning technologists who can teach you how to use Moodle, the College virtual learning environment (VLE) and new technology to help on your course.
We offer a wide range of workshops including an introduction to College systems, access to resources, research methodology, referencing and avoiding plagiarism.
All LRCs offer support for the subjects taught on that particular site. This includes bookable one-to-one sessions for exploring resources, making the most from our traditional and online collections, as well as sessions on developing your academic skills. All the information you need about the LRCs is available on our Moodle page.
Our online catalogue, Sherlock allows students to search all books and online resources, both at College and at home.
Our term-time opening hours are as follows:
|Monday||8.30am to 5pm|
|Tuesday||8.30am to 5pm|
|Wednesday||8.30am to 5pm|
|Thursday||8.30am to 5pm|
|Friday||8.30am to 4.30pm|
The Forum, opposite Southend Campus, is an ultra-modern library & learning zone that houses loanable College books, public library books, study spaces, WiFi, and access to PCs.
The 3rd floor is home to a teaching & study space specifically for our HE students, with access to College network PCs and a whole range of resources. A dedicated HE Resources Facilitator, based in the space full-time, is on hand to provide one-to-one guidance and support with all aspects of HE written work and research, as well as conduct group workshops on a range of study skills.
