No RAAC risk at South Essex College Group
You may be aware of the recent press coverage of the risks of a type of concrete building material, called RAAC, used as a finishing material within schools and education establishments in England. The DfE contacted us in June, and we have reviewed all of our sites. We have not identified any use of RAAC within our buildings, and consider there to be no risk associated with this material across the college. College services will therefore continue as normal, with no need to change processes or other arrangements. All sites are open.
The health and safety of our students and staff is, as always of paramount importance to us. We will keep the situation under constant review, to ensure that our buildings continue to be safe and compliant with health and safety requirements.
