Fitness brand features two South Essex College students workouts
South Essex College have been working in partnership with FITKRU to deliver work experience for fitness and sport students’ at South Essex College, with a competition to feature the best workouts on their YouTube channel.
120 students competed for the chance to have their personally choreographed workout filmed with the FIT KRU team with two students crowned winners on Friday 18 June.
Level 3 Diploma in Physical Activity, Fitness & Exercise student, Lottie and Level 2 Diploma in Physical Activity, Fitness and Exercise Science student, Alex, were selected as winners of the competition and developed their own online fitness content with FITKRU at the Southend campus.
The workout videos will be hosted on FITKRU’s YouTube channel and will be available to the public.
Carly Alavoine, Work Experience Manager at South Essex College, said: “This has been a fantastic experience for all the sport and fitness students and the FITKRU team have been so supportive throughout their work experience journey.”
“The students have gained insight into the health and fitness industry and learnt valuable insider knowledge on how to promote themselves on social media and an understanding of what it takes to be successful.”
The opportunity that FITKRU have given to our learners is invaluable said Brad Brooks, Head of Curriculum for Sport and Public Services.
“The videos that Lottie and Alex have created with the support of Ben and Jane is industry standard and this has given them a great insight and advantage early on in their career. We are very proud of all our learners and it shows that they are very capable and ready for the next step.”
Given the challenges COVI9-19 has bought many students it made it more challenging to find great work experience but we have worked well with South Essex College students to give them the tools they need to succeed said Ben Crook and Jane Harvey, CEO’s of Fit KRU.
“Lottie & Alex sent over such an amazing entry video and they were selected as the winners for their exceptional presenting skills and for the level of thought that had gone into constructing a well-rounded commercially focused workout. The energy they bought on the filming day was infectious and we were so impressed with the level of professionalism they both bought, the aspirations they have for the future and their willingness to adapt on the fly.”
