University Centre South Essex spreads some festive cheer!

This December, staff at University Centre South Essex have been busy putting on a range of festive activities and events for students

These have included a Christmas party at the Backstage Centre, a trip to Rochester Christmas market and a sustainable Christmas decoration goodie bag giveaway.

Purfleet staff and HE Student Engagement teamed up to put on a fantastic Christmas party complete with a hot chocolate station, festive craft table and a selfie station with props. Students from Costume Construction, Hair and Makeup for Production, and other courses, attended.

Georgia Walker, Student Engagement Facilitator said: “The atmosphere was great! A huge thank you to the technicians, catering staff and every other member of staff at the Backstage Centre who worked so hard putting it all together.”

The trip to Rochester was organised by Georgia and Nikki from HE Student Engagement and it marks the first HE trip of the year so it was particularly special. Students had the opportunity to use their day in Rochester however they saw fit, explore the market and do some Christmas shopping in the picturesque high street.

Georgia also took the time to put together some sustainable Christmas Decoration goodie bags containing craft materials, freshly dried oranges and step-by-step guides to make low waste, sustainable and effective festive decorations. These bags were given to the Basildon Town Centre, Forum and Purfleet campuses for students to pick up and enjoy.
