Students raise money for Southend Hospital charity
Students on the Level 2 Diploma Skills for Business and Administration course at South Essex College held a charity quiz at Waves restaurant to raise money for the special care baby unit at Southend Hospital.
The event was held at the Southend campus where students raised a whopping £215.67.
Tickets were £5 and this included a drink on arrival, food, a quiz, mini games, a chance to buy raffle tickets for fantastic prizes and a goody bag at the end of the night.
Students received donations from stores across Southend high street such as Nandos, Odeon, Body Shop, Starbucks, Pepe’s and Costa.
Business Lecturer Phoebe Morris, said: “This was a great event and a perfect opportunity for our students to organise a charity event to help with their learning as well as raise money for a fantastic cause.”
One customer quoted: “There were some great prizes and a great atmosphere all night. The students were very professional and it’s great to see them help raise money for Southend Hospital.”
