Fees and Funding Support at SECG

Find out what financial support you may be entitled to and how to access it

At South Essex Colleges Group, we believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of education. That’s why we offer a range of funding options to support students with the cost of their course, depending on individual circumstances.

Are You Eligible for Funding?

Funding eligibility is assessed based on a range of factors, including your age, the level of your course, your previous qualifications, and your personal or financial situation. As funding policies can change from year to year, it’s important to get the most up-to-date advice tailored to you.

To discuss your options, contact our friendly Funding Team. You can either email us at funding@southessex.ac.uk or call us on 0345 52 12345.

Students Aged 16–18

If you are aged 16–18 on the first day of your course, great news - your course fees are fully funded.

Students Aged 19 and Over

If you’re 19 or older, you may be required to pay some or all of your course fees. However, many courses are still fully or partially funded depending on your situation.

Support options include:

  • Advanced Learner Loans to cover full fees
  • Discretionary bursaries for exceptional circumstances
  • Fee waivers based on eligibility
  • Direct debit plans for manageable payments

We strongly recommend speaking to a course adviser or the Student Support Funding Team, who can review your personal circumstances and help you find the best support available.
