Through a partnership of several colleges, universities and employers, South Essex College is able to offer you a range of courses and apprenticeships created specifically for entry into several prominent industries.

Covering areas such as Engineering and Automation through to Business and Health Sciences, these courses have been designed alongside employers to offer you the best opportunity to progress into these rapidly developing fields.

Higher Technical Qualifications are either new or existing Level 4 and 5 qualifications (such as HNDs/Foundation Degrees/Diploma HE) that have been approved against occupational standards in their sector.

These qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies, who have worked with employers and businesses to make sure that learners get the specific training, knowledge and skills they need for their chosen career.

As well as our typical full-time courses we also offer part-time options to study online, you can brush up on your English and Maths qualifications or access Higher Education via our dedicated University Centre.

We have a range of local employers waiting to employ people with an LGV licence, providing career opportunities as a professional driver in their organisations. Take this step forward through the HGV Skills Bootcamp initiative at SECG.

This is a free no cost, high quality training theory and practical driving training programme of up to 16 weeks. On successfully completing the programme, you will be guaranteed an interview with a local employer who are seeking class 1 or C+E class licence holders.

Access courses are designed for adults over the age of 19 who want to study a degree in order to further or change their career, but do not have the necessary formal qualifications.

These courses are ideal if you have been out of education for some time, especially if you left school with too few qualifications to be able to go straight to university. They provide a good foundation in the knowledge and skills required for studying at university level, so that you will be confident and well prepared to go on to higher education.

Our degrees and higher education qualifications are awarded by leading institutions, including the University of East Anglia, the University of Arts London, The Open University, Pearson and City & Guilds. Our aim is to provide you with the qualification you need to successfully embark on your chosen career path or to continue with further study.
