Free film & screen Saturday Club launches in Basildon

Applications are now open for a brand-new FREE Film & Screen Saturday Club for young people aged 13–16, starting in Basildon this autumn.
Running from 7 November 2026 to 26 June 2027, the Saturday Club will give young people the opportunity to explore their creativity, learn new digital skills and make new friends; all in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Taking place on Saturday mornings from 9.30am–12.30pm during term time at South Essex College Group’s Basildon college, the Club will be based in the college’s state-of-the-art Digital Technologies Centre.
As part of the National Saturday Clubs programme, the Film & Screen Club will provide hands-on experience across a range of creative disciplines, including storytelling, filmmaking, animation and audio production.
Whether they already have an interest in film and digital content or are simply keen to try something new, the Club is designed to welcome young people of all abilities and backgrounds. Alongside developing creative and technical skills, the programme will support young people’s wellbeing, confidence and connections with others.
With up to 90 hours of free creative learning available throughout the academic year, the Club is a fantastic opportunity for young people to discover new talents, develop foundational skills and build lasting friendships.
