What if I am not sure what I want to study?

Can I change course after I start studying?

Will I learn as much at college as I would at school or sixth form?
Yes. Students complete the guided learning hours required for their qualification and benefit from a learning experience designed to prepare them for employment, higher education and future success.
What is a typical college timetable like?
College days are often structured differently from school. Students may not attend every day of the week, but will still complete all required learning hours for their course.
What do students do when they are not in college?

Do courses include work experience?

Do I need A Levels to go to university?
No. Many vocational qualifications carry UCAS points and can provide progression routes to higher education.
Can vocational qualifications lead to university?
Yes. Most Level 3 vocational qualifications attract UCAS points and are recognised by universities across the UK.
What are the benefits of a vocational course or T-LEVEL?
Vocational courses allow you to specialise in your chosen subject area and develop practical skills and knowledge before progressing into employment, apprenticeships or university study.
Will I receive careers advice during my course?
Yes. Our dedicated Careers Team provides impartial advice and guidance to help students explore higher education, apprenticeships, employment and other progression opportunities.
Can I progress to a higher level course?
Many of our programmes are designed to support progression between qualification levels, helping students continue developing their skills and knowledge.
Do I need English and Maths to progress onto a degree at UCSE
English is required for all courses. Applicants to UAL and UEA validated programmes are ideally expected to hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent). If you do not meet these requirements, our Admissions Team can advise on the options available to you.
Do you support students with disabilities or learning difficulties?
Yes. We welcome students with disabilities and learning difficulties and provide a supportive and inclusive environment where every learner is valued and supported.
How do I tell the college about a learning difficulty, disability or health condition?
We encourage students to share support needs as early as possible during the application or enrolment process so appropriate support can be discussed and arranged.
What support is available?
Support may include classroom support, exam support, assistive technology, workshops, physical support and assistance for hearing or visual impairments.
Can I receive exam access arrangements at college?
If you previously received exam support at school, such as extra time, a reader or a scribe, please provide your evidence so we can review the arrangements available to you.

Yes. Information is handled carefully and shared only with relevant staff to help ensure you receive the support you need during your studies
Will I need to pay tuition fees?
Courses are fully funded for students aged 18 or under on 31 August before the start of their course. Adult courses vary and often depend on your circumstances. Please look at individual course pages for information on fees and visit our fees and funding pages.
Are there any additional costs?
Some courses may require specialist kit, equipment, uniforms or educational trips. Please refer to the relevant course page. Our staff will talk to you about specific requirements at our open events and at enrolment.
Is financial support available?
A range of funding options may be available depending on your age, course and personal circumstances. Support may be available for fees, travel, meals, equipment and other study related costs.
Can I get help with equipment, uniforms or course materials?
