South Essex College’s Group expands its driver training fleet

South Essex Colleges Group’s (SECG) driver training school has made some exciting additions to its fleet over the summer, strengthening its position as a leading provider in the industry.

In the Midlands, the team has taken delivery of two new DAF tractor units, replacing their older Mercedes vehicles. Meanwhile, the Basildon centre has added a C1 7.5-tonne vehicle to support a new training contract.

Logistics Team Leader Stephen Davenport explained: “These vehicles show our intent to become a major force in the driver training industry, both through Skills Bootcamps and our commercial services. We can now offer all LGV licence classes – C1, C, and C+E – at our DSA-accredited centres in Basildon and Wellesbourne in the Midlands. We’re especially excited about the addition of the C1 vehicle, which allows us to deliver 7.5-tonne training. This is particularly valuable for ambulance paramedic training, horsebox users, and those looking to acquire a large motorhome licence.”

With these new additions, SECG is broadening opportunities for learners and commercial clients alike, ensuring that all our drivers are fully equipped with the skills and qualifications needed for a wide range of careers and industries.
