Inspiring Futures: Zed Mohammed Visits Our Business & Finance Students
South Essex Colleges Group was delighted to welcome Zed (Zohayb) Mohammed FCCA, Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer, alongside James Willcocks, Head of Management Accounts, for an engaging and inspiring session with our Business and Finance students.
Zed delivered a powerful and personal insight into his journey in business, bringing to life the possibilities that begin in the classroom and extend far beyond into successful careers. His passion for internal progression was clear throughout, offering students a tangible example of how dedication, ambition and the right support can open doors.
A particularly striking moment came when Zed shared that 30% of his current team are former South Essex Colleges Group students. This is a remarkable testament to the strength of our learning community and a clear demonstration of what our learners can achieve. For many students in the room, this made their own aspirations feel not only possible, but well within reach.
We are equally grateful for the time both Zed and James spent engaging with our staff. Their willingness to listen, collaborate and contribute to meaningful discussions reflects a genuine commitment to enhancing the student experience. Having senior leaders actively involved in conversations on the ground fosters a strong sense of unity and shared purpose across the college.
Discussions around T Levels, apprenticeships and the continued development of our Business Centre were particularly valuable. Their forward-thinking perspectives are helping us shape an even more dynamic, relevant and aspirational environment for our learners.
We extend our sincere thanks to Zed and James for their time, insight and continued support. Their visit has left a lasting impression on both students and staff, reinforcing our shared vision of empowering learners to succeed and thrive in their chosen careers.
