Former South Essex Colleges Group Football Academy Student stars in Wembley Cup Final Triumph

Former South Essex Colleges Group Football Academy student Collin Andeng-Ndi played a decisive role as Southend United F.C. lifted the 2025–26 Isuzu FA Trophy following a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Wealdstone F.C. at Wembley Stadium.
The final ended goalless after 90 tense minutes, with goalkeeper Collin producing a series of outstanding saves to keep Southend United in the contest. The match was ultimately decided from the penalty spot, where Collin delivered a crucial double save to deny Olufela Olomola and Jack Hinchy before Gus Scott-Morriss converted the winning penalty to secure a 4–2 shootout victory and spark jubilant celebrations among the Southend supporters.
Everyone at South Essex Colleges Group would like to congratulate Collin on his fantastic achievement and exceptional performance on one of football’s biggest stages.
Collin studied and played for the SECG Football Academy during the 2020–21 and 2021–22 seasons, where his talent quickly stood out. Steve Tilson, Head of the Football Academy and former Southend United manager, recognised Collin’s immense potential and recommended him to the club.
Following a successful trial period, Southend United signed Collin on a permanent contract and his career has continued to flourish ever since.
Reflecting on Collin’s remarkable progress, Steve Tilson said: “Collin now has over 100 appearances for the club and an FA Trophy winners’ medal under his belt. At 22 years old, the world is his oyster and hopefully he can carry on and earn a move to even bigger and better things.”
