Lecturer in Plumbing (including Renewable Technologies)

Shape the future of construction and clean energy skills South Essex Colleges Group is looking for an ambitious and passionate Plumbing Lecturer to join our growing Construction team and play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching while supporting the expansion of our exciting Clean Energy Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of learners while also contributing to the development of cutting-edge adult provision in renewable and sustainable construction technologies. About the Role: You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Level 1 and Level 2 Plumbing programmes, including our multi-skills plumbing pathway. You will inspire 16–18 learners to develop the knowledge, practical skills and behaviours needed to progress into apprenticeships, further study or employment. Alongside this, you will play an active role in supporting the delivery and growth of our Clean Energy Centre, with opportunities to teach and develop provision in Air Source Heat Pump installation and wider renewable technologies. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching, learning and assessment • Act as a personal tutor, monitoring learner progress, attendance and achievement • Support curriculum development to ensure industry relevance and future skills alignment • Track and improve learner outcomes using data and targeted interventions • Contribute to course leadership, quality processes and continuous improvement (SAR/QIP) • Support English and maths development within vocational delivery • Take part in recruitment activity including open days and events • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and learner wellbeing • Build strong links with employers and industry partners • Contribute to the growth of new and innovative provision across the department A key part of this role is supporting the College’s ambition to lead in sustainable construction skills. Lecturer, Creative Media

The School of Creative and Performing Arts is seeking an enthusiastic and talented media professional or experienced lecturer to join our thriving and creative media team at our Southend campus. Our department delivers an exciting range of media programmes across TV, film, print and digital media, including University of the Arts London (UAL) qualifications and the T Level in Media, Broadcast and Production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about their industry and keen to inspire the next generation of creative talent. Whether you are an experienced educator or currently working within the media industry and considering a move into teaching, we would love to hear from you. Full training and support are available for candidates who have the right industry expertise but do not yet hold a teaching qualification. As a Lecturer in Media, you will plan and deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons across our Level 1, 2 and 3 programmes. You will also take on Course Leader responsibilities for a Level 1 cohort, supporting learners with diverse needs and helping them to develop the skills, confidence and resilience required to succeed in education and beyond. We are looking for someone who can create an inclusive and motivating learning environment, adapting teaching approaches to ensure every learner can achieve their potential. You will assess student work, provide constructive formative and summative feedback, and work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress and achievement. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with a genuine passion for media education. You will possess excellent practical media production skills and be confident using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro. A strong understanding of media theory and its application within practical projects would be advantageous, as would current industry knowledge and experience that can help prepare students for progression into higher education and employment within the creative industries.
