Overview

This course is validated by the UAL

The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail has been designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of fashion business and retail disciplines. The first year of the qualification (Diploma) is made up of eight units and the second year of the qualification (Extended Diploma) consists of five units. You must successfully complete all units. All units relate to the creative media sector, all are delivered through vocational learning, and collectively they total 1140 Guided Learning Hours over the duration of the two-year course. The final grade is based on a structure of Pass, High Pass, Merit, High Merit and Distinction.

Entry Requirements

  • Four GCSEs at grade 4/grade C including maths, English and an art or business-related subject, or
  • Business or Art and Design Level 2 Diploma plus maths and English at grade 4/grade C, or equivalent
  • Successful attendance at interview event

What Next...

On completion of this course, you will be able to progress to higher education or in to employment, internship or apprenticeship in roles such as range buyer, range planner, fashion management, fashion marketing, visual merchandising.

You will have the opportunity to progress on to the Creative Media & Promotion BA (Hons) course at University Centre South Essex or you may wish to explore other universities across the UK. Students interested in the more creative aspects of the business may also decide to progress to the UAL Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at South Essex College.
