Graduation 2018: Jacqueline Creasey

A love for the theatre inspired Jacqueline Creasey to return to education as a mature student.

Jacqueline has a successful career in the NHS, but wanted to follow another of her passions and gain a qualification in costume construction.

She is part of the first cohort of students to graduate from the BA (Hons) Costume Construction course which is run in collaboration with the Royal Opera House and said she enjoyed the variety the course offered.

She said: “The past three years have gone by so quickly and it has been really enjoyable. We have studied lots of different time periods and techniques and I really feel I have progressed a lot.

“I was pleasantly surprised when I started to see quite a few other mature students on the course. It was great to have such a variety of ages and experiences which we shared along the way. The Royal Opera House connection was the deciding factor for me, to have such a prestigious organisation on board is highly beneficial.”

Jacqueline is now looking to put her new skills set into practice by working in the industry.
