There’s snow business like show business for acting students

Performing Arts students at South Essex College have been getting into the festive spirit by taking part in cracking Christmas events.
The Level 2 Performing Arts (Acting) group took part in the Leigh Lights Parade on Friday evening where they dressed up as Disney characters, superheroes and Christmas elves to entertain the crowds.
The group has also been invited to take part in Barleylands Farm Park’s festive event, which began this weekend and runs right up until Christmas, giving the students the perfect opportunity to showcase their talents.
The group was invited to take part in the events after they impressed bosses at Princess Gatherings, the company which organises actors for the events, at the Barleylands Spooky Nights event in October.
Eva Cukelj, from Princess Gatherings, said the students were a pleasure to work with once again.
She said: “The students were really enthusiastic and professional at the Halloween event, so we knew we wanted them to be part of these events to spread some Christmas cheer. Once again they really got into the spirit of the occasion and excelled themselves.”
Level 2 Performing Arts (Acting) Course Leader, Jay Clinton, said it was another fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience within their chosen industry as part of their course.
He added: “The acting students who belong to Nu.Dynamic Theatre Company, part of South Essex College, were given the opportunity to create characters and perform to an audience within the community. Throughout the evening the actors demonstrated a high level of professionalism and commitment towards the Leigh Lights Parade. They did a fantastic job!”
