T Level Results are a roaring success

The first cohort of T level students get their results

Student Riley from Basildon Town Centre college studied Digital Production and Development T Level.

“I chose to study at Basildon Town Centre college because I was unsure on what subject area I wanted to go into. After looking at different options and doing some research I found T Levels. I loved that the T Levels had work placement as well as coursework, which I prefer as I am not the most comfortable with exams.

“I studied Digital Production Design and Development and it was perfect for me, I really enjoyed it. The tutors teach you everything you need and more and you also get to gain more knowledge by doing your work placement.

“The course gives you independence and prepare you for work.

“My results were brilliant, I got a distinction which I am really happy and proud of. The next step for me is moving to University in Brighton to study computer science and cyber security and I am so excited to get started.

“I would recommend T Levels as it is a great qualification to have, it gives you real world experience by seeing how people work at the placement and shows you what you should be looking for and what sector you work in.”

Digital Design and Production T Level student, Alex,  20, from Eastwood achieved a Distinction.

He said: “I wasn’t expecting to do that well, I did my work experience at Microtill in South Woodham and found the whole T Level experience really interesting. I had previously done A Levels so it was appealing to study and do the work experience alongside it. At the company I gained an insight into the industry and the project work was really good because was able to use the technical skills I had learned.

“T Levels are a great idea. I think that combination of work experience and study is valuable and makes it more appealing than something that may just be exam based.

I have been accepted to do a degree apprenticeship with a company in September doing software development which is very exciting.”

T level student, River, 18,  from Canvey Island did the Digital Production and Design T Level.

She said: “I Chose T Levels because I saw the advertising, looked on the website and liked the structure of it because I don’t like actual exams as I don’t feel they represent my skills.

“The coursework was more suitable for me because it is spread out and you have time to work on it in the same way as you would in a normal business environment.

The classroom and work experience at Microtill really worked, you learn a lot in the class then you take your knowledge  into the employer.

“I got a merit which is what I needed to get my place at for Brighton University where I will be doing a software engineering course. I will then hopefully move into an good job or create my own social media platform.

“I would definitely recommend T Levels if you are someone like me who struggles with exams, the course teaches you to solve problems and gives you hands-on experience.

“For me it was the perfect choice.”
