South Essex College supports Time to Talk campaign

The Safeguarding team at South Essex College held information and talk sessions across all campuses to support the national Time to Talk campaign.

The event took place on Thursday 6 February, providing students with an hour long session to talk about mental health and learn more about the campaign.

There were also handouts given to students, chances to write a pledge on how students would support a friend if they felt they were struggling and prompt cards to start conversations.

Time to Talk is a national campaign the college embraces each year to promote mental health awareness and encourage conversations to help break down barriers.

Sue Walsh, Safeguarding Manager, said: “Each year we support this fantastic campaign to help encourage conversations amongst students and get them talking about well-being and mental health.”

“We had lots of response and pledge cards across our Southend, Thurrock and Basildon campuses and encourage anyone who is struggling with their mental health to speak to one of our team or follow the Time to Change campaign.”
