Police Students Get a Taste of the Next Step

Policing students attend Anglia Ruskin University for a taster day!

South Essex College Level 3 Policing Students attended a taster day at The Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. Throughout the day, students were given a tour of the university grounds courtesy of the student ambassadors and were also informed of the entry requirements to gain a place. 

Lecturer for Service Industries, Lee McCarthy said: "Students were spoken to by police volunteers and full-time police students. Members of the university faculty gave students information about the Policing Course."

Angila Ruskin University along with South Essex College, will be able to offer the policing students a five-year career path that will ensure success in the police force. Through the preparation, training and research, the college and university will take students from aged 16 to the official application age of 18 and will guarantee them an opportunity with the Police Force as paid police in training. 

Lee McCarthy explained: "The Policing Degree will be paid by the Police Force, enabling the students to achieve a university qualification, no course debts and the ability to earn a wage in the police."
