Going Green!

Green heads for National Mental Health Week.

Course Team Leader for Policing, Lee McCarthy, challenged to his students to come up with an idea for 'Wear it Green Day', to show a sign of understanding and commitment to be aware of mental health issues.

The students were willing to risk peer group ridicule and have their hair coloured green, the colour for Mental Health Week and many rose to meet that challenge. Over 25 students took part.

Lee said: “It is a sign that young members of society are learning and becoming more aware of what their future may be involved in. It makes me feel very proud that students are becoming role models and leaders for the future of society by willing to step outside their perceived roles.”
