GCSE results day - Emily Rix

Emily was ecstatic to gain a grade 4 in English after years of dedication to achieve.

The 19-year-old has come close in previous years to gaining the grade, but fell short on three previous occasions. Now she has started an apprenticeship in nursing, she wanted to succeed this year to help her prepare for the future.

She said after previous failed attempts she was determined to succeed this year.

She added: “It became more of a personal thing because I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I just couldn’t seem to break through the barrier before, which is why I’m so happy I have finally got the grade I have been working so hard to achieve.”
