Drama students visit renowned theatre for show

Drama and Theatre Studies A-Level students at South Essex College visited the Old Vic Theatre in London as part of their studies.
The group watched the show of Wise Children by Angela Carter, directed by Emma Rice, former director of The Globe and of the devising Company Kneehigh.
The production was a combination of acting, dancing, and signing from an extremely talented cast, with a live orchestra on stage and fabulous set.
The students were excited and intrigued and left the theatre discussing some of the themes from the play, such as identity and gender, the feminist perspective and political correctness, as well as the question of choices and responsibility.
Students were impressed with the production with comments including: “This is by far the best production we’ve seen! I cannot wait for the next trip, I’m sure it will be epic.” And “Now it all makes sense, we can definitely include this type of movement in our production!”
