Learning technology award for college manager

Learning technology award for college manager

A South Essex College learning technologist is the first in the country from the further education sector to become a senior certified member of a national body.

Lyshi Soloman, Learning Technology Manager, has become a Senior Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (SCMALT).

The association aims to increase the impact of technology in learning, teaching and assessment and its accreditation scheme looks at learning technologists’ professional experience and capabilities through a portfolio based assessment.

By becoming a senior member, Lyshi has demonstrated the ability to work at a more experienced level, which will bring added benefit to the College’s student learning experience.

Lyshi said she was delighted to have been awarded the senior status.

She said: “It means a lot to me to be recognised in this way. I’ve always believed that it’s not necessarily about the technology, but what you do with it that matters.

“I’m now looking forward to use this to help enhance our learning technology provision at the College to ensure our students get the best experience possible.”

The College is also an organisational member of the Association for Learning Technology.
