Art students hold postcard auction and exhibition

Art and Design students from South Essex College held a postcard auction and exhibition.

The Level 4 Diploma students, who study at the College’s Southend and Grays Campuses, created postcards based on predicted trends for 2019.

The exhibition, in the Southend Campus Gallery, included artwork interpreting future fashion and colour trends such as matte black, inside out beauty, seasonal versatility and animal alternatives.

Students auctioned off their original designs for a minimum donation of £1 each. Winners of each design will receive their postcard in the post.

Jennifer Hale, Art & Design Lecturer, said: “The exhibition was an opportunity for students to be creatively expressive with their ideas, exploring opportunities across different art forms within the restriction of a typical 6x4 format of a postcard.

“Viewers of the exhibition also had the chance to purchase unique pieces of artwork for a very reasonable price.”
