Film & TV students win prizes for their creative pitches at South Essex College.

BA HONS Film & TV Production lecturer, Pat Higgins hosted an awards ceremony for FE Film & Television students in The Pod at South Essex College.

Second year Film & TV students, Matt Blake, Emma Fulcher and James Morton were awarded Amazon vouchers for their creative efforts in proposing an ‘Elevator Pitch’ for an anthology film that will then be created by next year’s students in the HE course. Head of HE, Steve Bright presented the awards to the students.

Pat said: “It’s always great to see raw, unfiltered ideas getting turned into viable pitches and this batch of video pitches for the Higher Project were bubbling with enthusiasm and originality." Curriculum Leader of Creative Media & Performing Arts, Terrie Murphy said: “Seeing the students explore their creativity and develop their confidence to share such well-rounded ideas was heart-warming.”

Pat concluded: “The winning pitches showed creative focus and, above all, a real knack for communicating an idea and making the listener engage with it. Congratulations to everyone involved!”
