College Gets Glowing Review in Parliament

Anna Firth MP Mentioned the College with great delight.

South Essex College was mentioned in glowing terms by MP for Southend West, Anna Firth in parliament.

Her comments highlight the college's offer of vocational courses including our outstanding T-Level programmes. She said: "In Southend West, there are 830 young people undertaking degree apprenticeships, many at our outstanding South Essex College."

She then addressed the commons with a proposition: "We need to incentivise local buisnesses to work with the college to help train apprenisceships and not just provide a work placement. That would not only be a brilliant way for local emplyers to head-hunt the best students into good jobs, but also provide better quality apprenticeships, boost opportunities, and boost our local economy."

The commons agreed with her sentiments and expressed their belief that greater employer engagement would result in local businesses being placed at the heart of local skills systems and therefore facilitate more dynamic working arrangements between employers and colleges.
