Shannon Bell - Early Years, Health and Social Care Student of the Year (Thurrock)

Shannon Bell from Grays studies Level 3 Childcare and Education at the college’s Grays Campus.

She was nominated for being an excellent ambassador for the college, showing energy, enthusiasm and willingness to participate in all aspects of the course.

Her lecturer said: “She is dependable, trustworthy and always brings a positive attitude to class.  She is well liked by everyone in the teaching team and by her peers.”

Shannon has shown great practice at her work placement settings including a day care nursery and primary school. She has even been requested by her current school placement to help out at special events they organise for the children.

Shannon said: “I feel very privileged and proud to have been nominated for the award; it was an exciting time when I received the news. All my hard work over the past two years has paid off.

“I really enjoyed the course, the tutors have been very supportive. The staff are very friendly and there are lots of facilities around the college to help me study, I’ve made lots of lovely friends too.”
