Overview

This qualification is aimed at learners who are interested in becoming a Retrofit Advisor within the Construction industry. It is also aimed at upskilling existing employees within the Construction industry.
It's suitable for all who desire to develop or improve their knowledge of retrofit and the important role the Retrofit Advisor has in the entire process. The qualification provides learners with knowledge of the retrofit installation process, communication skills, health and safety and is underpinned by learners developing knowledge of the impact towards climate change and sustainability.

Course Structure
Covers retrofit installation, communication skills, health and safety, with a focus on climate change and sustainability impact.
- Understand global warming and climate change factors that support the need for retrofit
- Understand how retrofit and sustainable construction methods benefit the natural environment and wider society
- Analyse the benefits to the individuals who use or own a building where a retrofit has taken place
- Understand the impact of heat loss pathways, condensation and ventilation in retrofit upgrades
- Understand energy efficiency measures that provide improvement options for buildings
Assessment & Feedback
- Climate change, sustainability and the science of retrofit and health & safety in retrofit projects are assessed by externally set assignments
- Guidance for retrofit installations and communication for retrofit projects are assessed through a synoptic assignment containing:
- 2 externally set assignments
- Synoptic assignment, including 2 reports
- A presentation and
- An interview.
