An online training course covering the recruitment process for the Civil Service jobs. This course will explore behaviours and strengths that are looked for when recruiting. Participants will work towards achieving 2 qualifications then view a series of online information sessions.

Entry Requirements

This course is fully funded (FREE) for anyone who is 19 years or above that has lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and is in receipt of an active benefit. Or able to evidence that they are working and earning under £17k.

Candidates must provide one of the following forms of identification: 

  • Valid passport (any nationality) 
  • Signed UK photocard driving licence 
  • UK biometric residence permit card 
  • Birth certificate (BUT, if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification, an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card, utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided). 

We regret that we cannot provide iStudy courses for free to individuals who reside in the following combined authorities:

Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, West of England, West Midlands, Tees Valley, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, West Yorkshire. 

Course Structure

This course gives participants the opportunity to achieve the following qualification: 

  • Highfield Certificate in Personal Development Employability
  • Highfield Award in Customer Service

Assessment & Feedback

You can start this course at any time.

Studying online requires good organisational skills – we recommend 6-8 hours study per day to ensure the course is completed within the 9 day deadline.

Course Cost

Adult, part_time_evening: FREE

This course is fully funded (FREE) for anyone who is currently living in England, over the age of 19 and meets the current eligibility and entry criteria listed above (this is occasionally subject to change). 


All our distance learning courses are offered free on the proviso that the course is completed within 12 weeks of starting it. If you fail to complete within this time you will be liable to pay a £125.00 administrative fee. However, providing you do your 1-2 hours study per night we are confident that you will complete within the 12 week timeframe.
