Overview

The Information Communications Technician apprenticeship equips individuals with the ability to deliver efficient operation and control of the IT and network infrastructure (physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage) either on-premises or provisioned as cloud services. Information Communications Technicians monitor, administer, troubleshoot, and support ICT systems and they interact with a wide range of stakeholders supporting them remotely or face-to-face.

Entry Requirements

  • Employed in a trade/industry related to the apprenticeship.
    You will need to find employment in a related trade/industry before applying for the apprenticeship programme you wish to complete.
  • Applicants should hold GCSE Grade 4 or above in both English & Maths

Course Structure

Core content includes:

  • Providing technical support to customer
  • Establish & diagnose ICT problems/faults
  • Interpret technical specifications
  • Apply appropriate security policies
  • Undertake relevant processes with tools and technologies to resolve ICT issues
  • Communicate with stakeholders
  • Apply testing methodologies to hardware or software
  • Continuous self-learning to keep up to date with technological developments
  • Document & escalate ICT tasks as appropriate
