Overview

A two week online training course covering the recruitment process for Civil Service jobs. This course will explore behaviours and strengths that are looked for when recruiting and offer support to prepare you for the Civil Service application process. Participants will work towards achieving 2 qualifications and be able to view a series of online information sessions.

Entry Requirements

Applicants for this course must register their interest through their work coach at the Job Centre or contact us directly at workforceadultskills@southessex.ac.uk A member of South Essex College staff will then contact you to check eligibility criteria and to get you enrolled.

We regret that we cannot provide iLearn courses for free to individuals who reside in the following combined authorities: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Greater Manchester, Liverpool City, North of Tyne, South Yorkshire, Tees Valley, West Midlands, West Yorkshire and West of England.

Identification requirements for this course

Candidates must provide one of the following forms of identification:

  • Valid in-date passport (any nationality)
  • Signed in-date UK photocard driving licence
  • UK biometric residence permit card
  • Birth certificate (BUT, if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification, an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card, utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided).

Course Structure

This course gives participants the opportunity to learn how to get apply for a job with the Civil Service and also to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Highfield Certificate in Personal DevelopmentEmployability
  • Highfield Award in Customer Service

Assessment & Feedback

This two week course is delivered online through our Online Academy.

Course Cost

Adult, distance_learning: FREE

This course is FREE for anyone who was over 19 on 31/08/2023 and has lived in the UK/EU for the past 3 years and is in receipt of an active benefit.

It is also FREE to those who are able to evidence that they are working and earning under £20,319 or £23,302.50 in the Greater London Authority.
