Entry Requirements
- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) (2357-13/91)
- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357-23/92)
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker (2356-99)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346-03)
- Equivalent historical qualifications (see EAS Table 4B/4C) EAS Qualifications guide December 2020 (theiet.org)
or
- ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card
Course Structure
- Understanding the relationship with statutory and non-statutory requirements relating to electrical design, construction management and verification
- Understanding the electrical installation design, construction and commissioning process
- Understanding fundamental principles for the design and installation of associated protective systems relating to electrical installations
- Understanding factors that affect the choice of sources and environmental technologies used within electrical installation design
- Being able to apply design and verification procedures for single and poly phase electrical installations
Assessment & Feedback
Assessment will be through an externally set written assessment and a scenario based electrical installation design project.
What Next...
On successful completion learners can progress on to the City & Guilds Level 4 Higher Professional Diploma in Building Services Engineering (4467-04) or ILM Management and Leadership qualifications.
