Overview

This course is the final stage to becoming a qualified counsellor. Skills are embedded throughout ensuring you are challenging your own practice and are safe and ethical at all times especially when you go into your 100 placement hours as part of this qualification.  

We also study a range of different modalities supporting you to challenge your self-awareness and develop your skills dependent on your clients needs. We will ensure you have a great core modality of Humanistic counselling meeting the BACP ethical framework.

Entry Requirements

  • You must have completed a level 3 which was interactive with your peers and tutors for at least 75 guided learning hours.

Course Structure

Building your counselling skills alongside developing a theoretical and reflective practice.

  • Theory including (but not limited to);
  • Psychodynamic
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Humanistic theory including Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Existential.
  • Sex and Sexuality
  • Skills Practice
  • Fitness to Practice
  • Supervision
  • Trauma

Course Cost

Advanced learner loan may be available

Adult, part_time_day:

2 years, 6 hours per week

Course fee based on 2021-22 for UK residents. Non-UK citizens will need to provide sufficient document/s confirming your right to live and study in the UK e.g. confirmation of settled status.

Course fee includes the registration costs with AIM qualifications.

Additional fees: 20 hours of personal therapy, supervision in line with the BACP, BACP student membership and insurance.
