Overview
Take the final step towards becoming a qualified counsellor. Build your confidence, deepen your self-awareness and develop the practical skills to support clients safely, ethically and professionally – including completing 100 hours of real-world placement experience.
You’ll develop a strong foundation in Humanistic counselling while exploring a range of therapeutic approaches, helping you adapt your practice to meet individual client needs and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.
This course is the final stage to becoming a qualified counsellor. Skills are embedded throughout ensuring you are challenging your own practice and are safe and ethical at all times especially when you go into your 100 placement hours as part of this qualification.
Entry Requirements
You must have completed a level 3 which was interactive with your peers and tutors for at least 75 guided learning hours and you must undergo a DBS check.
Course Structure
You will study a range of different modalities supporting you to challenge your self-awareness and develop your skills dependent on your clients’ needs.
We will ensure you have a great core modality of Humanistic counselling meeting the BACP ethical framework.

The HTQ Counselling programme includes a requirement for students to engage in personal therapy as part of their professional and personal development. The cost of personal therapy is not included in tuition fees and will vary depending on the provider chosen. Students who are eligible for Student Finance England may wish to use Maintenance Loan funding to contribute towards these costs, alongside other living and study expenses.
