Students’ final major project is on brand
BA (Hons) Fashion Media & Promotion students at University Centre South Essex held an exhibition to showcase their final major project.
The work was on display at cultural and community café, Twenty One, on Southend Seafront.
Over the course of the last three years, the students have covered all aspects of creative and promotional media whilst developing a diverse range of industry-focused skills.
During their final year, the students were able to specialise in their own personal areas of interest. This year, specialisms included social campaigns, branding, creative publishing, videography, styling, photography and digital design.
They were tasked with designing and producing a media and promotion concept, either promotion for an existing company or the creation of a new brand or social movement.
The brief allowed the students to showcase their creative and practical skills, as well as demonstrating independence and creative problem solving.
Lecturer Sherri Ellis said: “We are very proud of what the students have achieved over the last three years, especially as this group of students undertook much of their degree during the pandemic. The work produced is of a very high standard and it has been great to see the culmination of their efforts as well as showing some of their personality through their work. Many of them have jobs lined in up in the creative industries and we wish them all the luck in their future careers.”
The work demonstrates a vast spectrum of creativity with students building rich portfolios along the way. Not constrained by the word 'Fashion', students have explored past and future lifestyle trends in order to fully develop current and generational ideas. From September 2022, the course becomes BA (Hons) Creative Media & Promotion, reflecting the diversification of the lifestyle industry.
