Royal Opera House Costume Construction Prize

BA (Hons) Costume Construction – University Centre South Essex
Validated by University of the Arts London (UAL)

Since its inception in 2015, the BA (Hons) Costume Construction degree has worked closely with the Royal Opera House (ROH) Costume and Collections departments ensuring that students gain insight and skills for the costume and performance industries. Having access to the ROH costume store and historical collections due to sharing a building with ROH at our Purfleet Campus, provides a unique opportunity for students to research first-hand various costume construction techniques. Practical work is underpinned with research, theory and knowledge of a variety of cultures, genres and performance settings. Inclusivity and diversity are celebrated providing students with the opportunity to investigate global contexts.

Graduates have gone on to work at ROH in a variety of roles as well as other areas of the costume industry.
