About Your Online Degree Pathway
This Leadership and Management Online Degree Pathway is made up of 240 credits and is designed as an online alternative to completing Year 1 and Year 2 at university. Studying this programme will fast-track you to the final year of an associated Honours degree, which can be completed at one of our preferred partner universities (see progressions tab).

Entry Requirements
You’ll need to have (or be working towards) an appropriate level of English and Maths:
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or
- GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths and English
For individuals whose first language is not English, we recommend the following English language proficiency standards or an approved equivalent for this qualification:
IELTS: A score of 6 or higher

Assessment & Feedback
The course is split into 2 parts:
Level 4 Higher National Certificate: Foundation Excellence (Year 1)
The Level 4 units establish the foundations of learning by providing a broad introduction to business and different business functions. This level develops and strengthens core skills while preparing you for Level 5 study.
You will gain extensive business knowledge tied to practical skills through research, independent study, directed study, and workplace scenarios. The course involves vocational activities that help develop essential vocational behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for competence) alongside transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, research, and analysis.
By completion of Level 4, you will achieve sound knowledge of the basic concepts of leadership and management, becoming competent in subject-specific skills as well as general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of business.
Level 5 Higher National Diploma: Advanced Professional Development (Year 2)
The Level 5 units provide you with opportunities to gain knowledge, skills, and behaviours aligned to the Occupational Standard for Operations Manager. Throughout this course you will develop and apply your own ideas, deal with uncertainty and complexity, explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation, and use both theory and practice across diverse business situations.
These units prepare you to enter employment with qualities and abilities necessary for roles requiring personal responsibility and decision-making, supporting aspirations for future management positions including:

Average Completion Timeframe
This qualification typically takes learners an average of 9-12 months to complete.
Assessment Requirements
There are no external exams included in this study programme, instead, you will complete several written assignments.
Assessment
The curriculum is set up to support a portfolio approach to continuous assessment. Learners will study modules and develop a portfolio of evidence. Each module will have milestones where formative assessment is provided, and learners can then continue to work on their portfolios before a final submission at the end of the module.

This means you can get a government loan for 100% of your course fees with nothing to pay upfront. As well as the tuition fee element you may also be eligible to apply for an additional maintenance loans.
Repayment of the tuition fee loan begins only after you complete your studies and when your annual income exceeds £25,000.
