Enter the world of business

If you are curious about how organisations work and want a future where you can shape ideas, influence decisions and create opportunities, this subject area is a strong place to start. You will explore careers in areas such as marketing, finance, management and accounting, while building a clear understanding of how businesses operate. Courses are available at Thurrock and Southend, with some adult learning options offered through partners including Mindful Education and Learn Direct, giving you flexibility in how you begin your journey.

Learn by doing

Your learning combines business knowledge with practical application so you can build skills that feel relevant and useful. You will explore areas such as entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, customer service and business operations, while developing strong employability skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving and analytical thinking. You will work on realistic business scenarios such as creating business ideas, analysing performance, developing marketing plans and managing budgets, using digital tools and financial software to understand how decisions are made.
