Winners!
South Essex Colleges Group (SECG) has won the prestigious Innovation in Training Delivery award, with PTP Training earning a highly commended recognition for our impressive contributions.
The award was presented to marine engineering tutor Simon Lofting, who played a pivotal role in the college’s success. Simon said: “I am shocked but so proud to be awarded this on behalf of SECG. I have no words, this is a huge achievement for the college group.”
The awards ceremony marked the conclusion of the annual Apprenticeship and Training Conference (ATC), celebrating outstanding training providers, individuals, and employers for their commitment to quality training provision.
This year, the renamed ATC Awards, jointly run by FE Week and the association of employment and learning providers (AELP) in association with City & Guilds, received over 600 nominations across 20 categories, with a total of 26 awards and commendations presented.
Jayne Sheehan, Vice Group CEO of Innovation & Employer Engagement, commended Lofting’s leadership, told us: “Under Simon Lofting’s leadership, South Essex Colleges Group has pioneered innovative approaches in maritime training, setting a high standard for both quality and relevance. By leveraging industry expertise and technology, Simon has created a distinctive, hands on learning experience that ensures apprentices gain both the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in the maritime industry.”
