Everyone who completes a course of study has a unique story to tell and South Essex Colleges Group wants to hear yours. Did you achieve your qualification under difficult circumstances? Have you gone on to a career that uses your qualification or did you follow a different pathway? What are you doing now?
A Level Medical Pathway
I loved my teachers and classmates and I am very proud of what I have achieved. I hope to progress to be dentist after university but I am going to have a gap year first to gain some work experience.
T-Level Design, Surveying and Planning
I really enjoy the work in design and surveying. The best thing about the college is how much I have learned. The course is well organised and as given me a good start.
Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
The tutors were amazing, they are so supportive and always there to help. I study with a nice group of people and we all come together to study something we all are passionate about. I would 100% recommend this course.
I studied Level 1 Media. I really wanted to be creative and make short films. I really enjoyed the course, it was great fun. I’d tell other people to jump at the opportunity of doing this course.
I’m surprised and incredibly happy to win the award! A lot of it is down to the good tutoring. The college is a really good environment for meeting new people and has lots of support from everyone around you. I’m hoping to go into cybersecurity. My advice is to try and make IT your hobby too, it will really help you on your course.
I am very proud of myself and can’t believe I won and now have a job as an apprentice at Essex County Council!
Honestly, I can’t explain, I’m so excited and happy. This is my first award and it’s been so hard for me. I study in Basildon and the most important thing is English. I have to improve my English; it’s a life rule for me. I’m originally from Turkey and I’m most proud of winning this award. I would 100% recommend the college. When I go into the classroom, I feel confident in myself and that’s because of the tutors.
I wasn’t expecting the award, but I’m very happy. I enjoy that you always get to learn something new, and marine engineering is such a vast industry and getting to see all the different parts of it is great. Go for it; there are lots of opportunities, not just in engineering but in leisure and cruise ships too. I want to be a marine engineer in the leisure industry, working on superyachts.
