National Apprenticeship Week 2020 – Ellie Edwards

Ellie Edwards is a Business Administration Apprentice at Mears, working in its Thurrock office whilst also studying with South Essex College.

Mears is one of the UK’s leading housing and care providers to both the public and private sector, Ellie’s office works with Thurrock Council.

She chose the apprentice route because she would rather be in a work based environment than a school or college. She said: “I love how friendly everyone is at the company, they make me feel really welcome.

“I would like to make my way up the company in the future, continuing down the office admin path but in a higher role.”

She added: “I want young people to be aware that apprenticeships are an option, I want to let people know there is more than just going to college five days a week. I personally would recommend the pathway as it opens many doors in your chosen industry.”
