Develop skills for life, learning and work
Depending on your individual needs, we offer pathways as the following:
- Foundation Courses (Entry Level 3 and Level 1)
- Pathways to Independence
- Supported Internships
You'll learn in small groups with personalised support from experienced staff who understand your individual needs and goals.
Depending on your pathway, you'll have opportunities to develop personal and social skills, improve your English, maths and digital skills, and gain valuable experience through work placements and enrichment activities.
With the right support and encouragement, you'll leave your programme ready to move forward with confidence, independence and a clear sense of purpose.
Our Entry Level course is designed to help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress to further study. You'll build your employability skills while working towards English and maths qualifications, and explore a variety of subject areas through taster sessions to help you discover your interests and plan your next steps.
If you're looking for a starting point in your further education journey, this course will provide the foundation you need to progress on to further study or training.
Entry Level 3 Vocational Studies Extended Certificate
Students can progress to Level 1 courses which are equivalent to GCSE grades 1/G to 3/D and are designed to help you build your skills and confidence as you progress in your learning journey. These are offered across a range of subjects at SECG.
On our Pathways programme, you'll have the opportunity to develop the independent living skills needed for adulthood while studying English and maths at a level that is right for you. The programme is designed for young people who benefit from learning in a supportive environment and is ideal for those with recognised learning difficulties and/or disabilities. There are no formal entry qualifications required. Learners aged 19 and over will need an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
A Supported Internship is a work based programme for young people aged 16 to 24 with SEND and an Education, Health and Care Plan. Combining a substantial work placement with personalised support from a job coach, the programme helps students develop workplace skills, confidence and independence, preparing them for paid employment and adult life.
