Entry Level 3 Vocational Studies Extended Certificate

The Entry Level 3 Vocational Studies Extended Certificate is designed for learners who are at the beginning of their further education journey and want to develop the core skills needed to progress onto further study. It is suitable for those who would benefit from a supportive, confidence‑building course while exploring different career options. 

Throughout the course, learners develop essential employability skills alongside maths and English. Learning focuses on building communication, teamwork and confidence, with opportunities to develop skills such as career planning, interview preparation, working with others and engaging effectively in discussion. 

Learners also strengthen their reading, speaking, listening and digital skills to support everyday learning and future progression. A key feature of the course is the opportunity to take part in taster sessions across different areas of the college.

These sessions allow learners to explore a range of vocational subjects, such as health and social care, business, catering and hospitality, sport, media, art and design, childcare and other areas, helping them make informed choices about their next steps. 

By the end of the course, learners will have developed the underpinning skills needed for further education and gained greater confidence in their abilities. This course provides a valuable starting point, supporting progression to a wide range of Level 1 courses and helping learners identify future pathways that match their interests and strengths.
