Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing

The Hairdressing Level 3 Diploma is designed for qualified hair stylists who have already achieved a Level 2 qualification and want to progress their career within the hairdressing industry. It is suitable for learners who have experience in a salon environment and are ready to develop more advanced and specialised skills. 

Throughout the course, learners build on their existing knowledge to develop creative and technical expertise. This includes advanced cutting techniques, creative colouring and lightening, colour correction, bridal hair and styling and dressing hair for a range of looks. Learners also develop consultation skills and creative design techniques, helping them personalise services and respond confidently to client needs. 

Professional practice is a key focus of the course, with strong emphasis on maintaining health and safety standards and working to industry expectations. Training takes place in state‑of‑the‑art salons using professional products, allowing learners to practise their skills in realistic working environments and gain confidence for employment. 

Alongside technical training, maths and English are supported where required to strengthen communication, numeracy and professional skills. 

By the end of the course, learners will have gained a recognised Level 3 qualification that supports progression into a wide range of roles, including salon styling, specialist services, freelance work, training, sales or management within the hair and beauty industry.
