Course Overview
The Performing and Production Arts (Acting) Level 2 Diploma supports you to develop acting skills and explore the performing arts industry through practical, vocational learning. It is suitable if you have an interest in acting and want to build confidence, technique and industry awareness before progressing to further study.
Throughout the course, you will specialise in acting through a range of performance‑based projects. Learning is delivered through rehearsals, workshops and live performances, helping you develop skills in performing scripted plays, devising original work and exploring different acting styles. You will become a member of the Nu. Dynamic Theatre Company, working collaboratively with others in a professional, performance‑focused environment.
You will explore physical theatre, rehearsal techniques and character development, alongside research skills that support your understanding of texts, styles and performance contexts. Reflection and self‑evaluation form an important part of the course, helping you review performances and identify areas for development. The course also supports you to develop wider transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, discipline and resilience, which are essential within the performing arts industry.
By the end of the course, you will have developed practical acting skills, performance experience and confidence, supporting progression onto a Level 3 acting or performing arts study programme or related creative pathways.
This course is free to UK learners under 19 who are not in employment.
