Course Overview
Are you interested in a career in photography and want to turn your creativity into real visual impact?
This course is designed for learners who are passionate about capturing images and telling stories through photography. You will explore a wide range of photographic media, techniques, and technologies, giving you the opportunity to experiment, build confidence, and develop your own creative style. You will also learn through practical, hands on experience in studio photography, location shoots, digital image capture, and professional image editing.
The course introduces you to experimental photography, lens based image making, darkroom practice, and commercial photographic laboratory operations, helping you understand both creative and industry focused approaches. Using computer applications to manipulate and enhance images, you will develop skills that reflect current professional practice.
Maths and English are embedded throughout the course to support communication, problem solving, and your future ambitions, ensuring you leave with both creative and essential skills ready for your next step.
To study this course, you will need Level 2 qualification or GCSEs x 4 at grade 4/C - one to be grade 4/C in English or Maths dependent on vocational subject to be studied.
You will be asked to provide evidence of your ability in the subject which could be in the form of a portfolio as well as successful attendance at an interview event.
