Course Overview
The Marine Engineering Level 2 Diploma supports you to develop a foundation understanding of marine engineering and the wider marine industry. It is suitable if you are interested in working on boats, vessels or marine systems and want to build practical and technical skills that support further study or progression within the sector.
During the course, you can explore the structure and operation of the marine industry, gaining an understanding of how marine engineering supports commercial and leisure vessels. Learning focuses on core marine engineering processes and principles, helping you understand how systems are designed, operated and maintained in marine environments.
You will develop practical skills in servicing and maintaining marine engines, propulsion systems and associated ancillary systems. This includes learning how routine maintenance is carried out safely and effectively, alongside applying business improvement techniques that support efficient working practices.
By the end of the course, you will have developed basic marine engineering knowledge, practical maintenance skills and industry awareness. This qualification supports progression into further marine engineering training, apprenticeships or employment pathways within marine mechanical, servicing or maintenance roles. This course is delivered at our Luckyn Lane campus.
This course is free to UK learners under 19 who are not in employment.
