Course Overview
The Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Level 2 is designed for learners who are working in a customer‑facing role and want to develop the skills needed to deliver high‑quality service across a wide range of industries.
It suits those who want to build confidence in communicating with customers, representing their organisation professionally, and developing the behaviours expected in a modern workplace while earning and learning at the same time.
Throughout the apprenticeship, learners develop key customer service skills such as communication, presentation and problem solving, helping them handle customer interactions effectively and professionally. Learning takes place through a blend of online study, workplace learning and independent activities, allowing learners to apply new skills directly to their role. Apprentices gather evidence of their progress through an e‑portfolio and take part in regular reviews to support development and keep learning on track.
The programme begins with an induction period, where learners are introduced to the apprenticeship, expectations and assessment requirements, and complete an initial review of English and maths skills. Ongoing support is provided for functional skills where required, alongside learning linked to health and safety, equality and diversity, and wider workplace values. As the apprenticeship progresses, learners build towards a final showcase of their skills and knowledge, supported by preparation activities and practice assessments.
Towards the end of the programme, learners take part in an end‑point assessment, which includes a practical observation, a professional discussion and a showcase of their work. By completing the apprenticeship, learners gain a recognised customer service qualification and the skills, confidence and experience to progress within their current organisation or move into more senior customer service roles across different sectors.
This course is free to apprentices, as the cost is paid by your employer. Large companies can fund the course using their apprenticeship levy. SMEs can access government funding to subsidise the cost by 95%
