Course Overview
The Civil Service Academy is a two-week, online training programme designed to help you prepare for the Civil Service application process. Delivered through online learning, workshops and tutor support, the course introduces you to the skills, strengths and behaviours commonly expected of people working within the Civil Service. During the course, you can learn more about Civil Service careers and develop a clearer understanding of the recruitment and application process. You will explore how your existing experience can demonstrate the behaviours employers are looking for, helping you approach applications with greater confidence.
Alongside Civil Service-focused learning, you will work towards qualifications in customer service and personal development.
These areas can help you strengthen transferable skills such as communication, self-awareness, organisation and professional behaviour, which are valuable across a wide range of workplace settings. The course requires good organisational and time-management skills. You should allow approximately one to two hours of independent study each evening to support completion within the two-week timeframe. As the programme is delivered entirely online, you will need access to an internet-enabled desktop computer or laptop and an active email account.
By the end of the programme, you will have gained a better understanding of the Civil Service application process, developed relevant employability skills and worked towards recognised qualifications that can support your progression into employment. This course is delivered through Online Learning.
