Course Overview
Are you ready to take your bricklaying skills to the next level and move closer to a real career in construction?
This Level 2 course is designed for learners who already have basic experience and want to build confidence, speed, and accuracy on site. You will develop stronger practical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of construction methods, setting out, and working safely to industry standards, preparing you for apprenticeships or employment in the construction industry.
You will spend most of your time learning through hands on practical work, developing your skills in brick and block work, walling, and basic setting out. You will learn how to store materials and equipment safely, erect and dismantle working platforms, and work efficiently as part of a construction team.
Health and safety is a key focus throughout the course, alongside embedded maths and English to support accuracy, communication, and problem solving on site.
The course is delivered at our Stephenson Road campus, part of Basildon College, where you will train in realistic workshop environments with experienced tutors who will help you build the skills, confidence, and professional approach needed to progress in the construction industry.
To study this course, you will need Completion of Bricklaying Level 1 Diploma as well as GCSEs x2 at grade 2 in maths and English.
You will also need to achieve successful attendance at interview.
This course is free to UK learners under 19 who are not in employment.
Construction Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma bricklaying apprenticeship.
